La Valletta New: Conference Programme read (pdf)

Dear CLIOHRES partner,

we look forward to seeing you in Malta very soon for our Third Plenary meeting, to be held on 30 November and 1 December.

We have asked everyone to send us the flight numbers and schedules of their arrival and departure. If you have done so, pick-up service at the airport to take you to our Hotel has been arranged. The driver will have a card with CLIOHRES/CLIOHnet2 written on it.

We are staying at the Coastline Hotel, Salina Bay, Malta; tel. +356 21573781.

As you know we are holding meetings of three Networks (CLIOHRES, CLIOHnet2, CLIOHRES.doc) and the First Assembly of our Association. We hope that everything is clear in the Programme that you find below.

This will be a truly ‘historic’ meeting, a celebration of all we have achieved already and all we want to achieve in the future.

Best wishes

Kathy, Gudmundur and the Pisa team (Laura Burgisano, Adrian Marinescu, Giuseppe Bagnato).

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

Greetings to everyone after what we hope has been a pleasant and productive summer. We hope all your TWG meetings are going well and wish we could participate in all of them.

We are writing to confirm that -- as planned -- the Third CLIOHRES Plenary Meeting will be held in Malta. We suggest that you make your reservations now, because prices are still good, but will go up soon.

Arrival is planned for 29 November, the meeting will take place on 30 November-1 December (Arrival on 29 November except for CC members who will arrive on 28 November).

The last afternoon of the Plenary will include the first Assembly of our CLIOHRES/CLIOHnet Association, held jointly with CLIOHnet2. In fact, the CLIOHnet2 Plenary meeting will also be held in Malta, on 2 December.

For this reason, those of you who are CLIOHnet2 coordinators will be asked to stay for the Sunday 2 December meeting, departing on 3 December. Departure for all the other CLIOHRES members will be on Sunday 2 December.

The general format of the CLIOHRES meeting will be similar to what it was in Pisa and Reykjavik: that is:

morning of 30 November: formal opening, presentations on the transversal theme (Tolerance/Discrimination);

afternoon of 30 November: discussion of the Transversal Theme; break up into TWG and the morning of 1 December;

morning of 1 December: continuation of TWG meetings and preparation of reports;

afternoon of 1 December: final reports to the Plenary, Doctoral Assembly and Consortium Assembly, followed by the First General Assembly of our Association.

We realise that the programme seems rather complicated: we are sending you a little table which attempts to show clearly when you should arrive and depart.

We will reimburse your air travel expense after the meeting when you send us the request with the used tickets and boarding passes. We can reimburse low-cost or economy  flights.

If you wish to stay extra days you will be responsible, naturally, for all the extra charges; you will also need to demonstrate that the price actually paid for the ticket is equal or less than what you would have paid for a ticket for the normal days of the meeting.

 If you have doubts or questions, please write to us promptly to clarify.

Warm regards

Kathy and Gudmundur
