Second Plenary Meeting in Reykjavik

Dear All,

the Second Plenary meeting of CLIOHRES.net will be held in Iceland, in Reykjavik, as planned and desired by all of us.

Radisson SAS Saga Hotel

It is now confirmed that we will stay in the fine Saga Hotel and the meeting will take place in the nearby Haskoli Islands, the University of Iceland, where we will be hosted by Gudmundur Halfdanarson.

The meeting will start on Friday 8 December and conclude in the afternoon of Saturday 9th. The organization will be the same as in Pisa, with people arriving on Thursday 7th and leaving on Sunday 10th - except for members of the Coordination Committee who will arrive on Wednesday the 6th.

All CLIOHRES.net researchers are asked to make their reservations and purchase their tickets as soon as they can, communicating to Gudmundur that they will attend the meeting. As usual, if there are specific doubts or problems, please contact the Pisa team (l.burgisano@stm.unipi.it).

Iceland can be reached by air from various points in Europe (the airport is called Keflavik). The main carriers are Icelandair and Iceland Express . Icelandair has two daily flights from both Copenhagen and London Heathrow (three flights to/from Copenhagen on Thursdays and Sundays), daily flights to/from Stockholm and Oslo, four times a week to/from Glasgow (Sundays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays), Amsterdam (Sundays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays), Frankfurt (Sundays, Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays), and Paris (Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays). Iceland Express flies daily to/from London Stansted and Copenhagen (two flights to/from Copenhagen on Thursdays and Sundays). Moreover, British Airways flies to/from Gatwick on Sundays, Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays. It is advisable to buy the tickets in advance, as the price will go up considerably as we get closer to the actual event.

We further wish to inform all of you that as of a few minutes ago we have launched our new WEBSITE (www.cliohres.net as usual). It has been restyled and we hope you like it. The old passwords are still valid: if you find any glitches please tell us (write to a.marinescu@stm.unipi.it).

Cheers to all! Cheers to CLIOHRESnet!

Best
Kathy, Gudmundur, Laura B., Laura F., Adrian
